David Koonce has
served as the Director of Human Resources for the City of Lufkin for
the past nine years. Prior to coming to Lufkin, David worked as an
Assistant Administrator for Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital for
eighteen years. He is a licensed Nursing Home Administrator and a
Certified Risk Manager. He is a graduate of Stephen F. Austin State
University with a Bachelors of Science Degree. He sits as a member
of the advisory boards of Goodwill and Workplace Connection. He is
Vice President of the Society of Human Resource Managers local Pineywoods Chapter. He is the Civil Service Director for the City of
Lufkin and is a member of the Texas Municipal League's Human
Resources affiliation. David has direct responsibilities for the
Human Resources function (personnel, benefits, safety, training) for
the City of Lufkin
