Don Langston was elected to the City Council in May 2003 and is presently serving as Mayor Pro Tem.

Mr. Langston is the Chairman of Langston Construction, Inc., a commercial construction company located in Lufkin and licensed in Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas. Mr. Langston previously served as Chairman of the City of Lufkin Zoning Board of Adjustments and Appeals and Chairman of the City of Lufkin’s Construction Board of Adjustments and Appeals. Mr. Langston also served twice as President of the Lufkin Homebuilders Association and was active in the National Association of Builders, serving on various committees. He served two terms as President of St. Cyprian’s School and is currently active in the Lufkin Rotary Club and the Lufkin/Angelina Economic Development Partnership. Mr. Langston currently serves on the City of Lufkin’s Insurance Committee, Building Committee and Finance Committee. Mr. Langston was also a past member of the State Bar of Texas District 2B Grievance Committee.

He is a graduate of Lufkin Public Schools (1966) and Holds a B.S. Degree from Stephen F. Austin State University in Political Science (1970).

He is married to Lynda (Denton) Langston and is the father of two children, Kevin and Kelly, and has two grandsons and two granddaughters. He and his wife are active members of First United Methodist Church where Don serves on various committees.
