Langston
Don Langston was elected to the City Council in May
2003.
Mr. Langston is the owner of Langston Construction, Inc.,
a commercial construction company located in Lufkin,
Texas, Louisiana, and Arkansas. Mr. Langston previously
Served as Chairman of the City of Lufkin Zoning Board of Adjustments
and Appeals and Chairman of the City of Lufkin’s Building Code Board
of Adjustments and Appeals. Mr. Langston served twice as President
of the Lufkin Homebuilders Association and was active in the
National Association of Builders serving on various committees. He
served twice as President of St. Cyprian’s Episcopal School and is
currently active in the Lufkin Rotary Club and the Lufkin/Angelina
Economic Development Partnership. Mr. Langston currently serves on
the City of Lufkin’s Insurance Committee and is Vice-Chairman of the
4-B Economic Development Board. Mr. Langston also serves as a member
of the State Bar of Texas District 2B Grievance Committee.
He is a graduate of Lufkin Public Schools (1966) and holds a B.S.
degree from Stephen F. Austin University in Political Science
(1970).
He is married to Lynda (Denton) Langston and is the father of two
children, Kevin and Kelly, and has one grandson and one
granddaughter. He and his wife Lynda are active at First United
Methodist Church where Don is currently Vice-Chairman of the Finance
Committee. |
