Jack
Gorden, Jr. was elected as Councilmember of Ward 5 in April of 1984.
He served as Mayor pro-tem from 1998-1999 and was elected Mayor in
May of 2006.
A native of Lufkin, Mayor Gorden received his Bachelor of Science
Degree in Economics from Stephen F. Austin State University. He
attended the SMU Graduate School of Banking and the University Of
Colorado Graduate School Of Banking.
Mayor Gorden is employed with First Bank & Trust East Texas as an
Executive Vice President.
He and his wife, Mary Jo, both Lufkin natives, are active members of
First Christian Church. They have one son, Trey. He and his family
also reside in Lufkin.
Mayor Gorden is
