Bob Brown
was sworn in at the May 15th, 2012 city council meeting as the
new Mayor for the city of Lufkin. Mr. Brown defeated incumbent
Jack Gorden following the May 12th, 2012 election.
Bob Brown retired from Oncor (TP&L,TU Electric, TXU) after 40
years of service.
He has been married to Tony for 46 years and they have two
Daughters, Tana and Denna (deceased 1993). Tana is married and
living in Katy with her husband, Greg, and two boys, Grayson 15
and Griffin 11.
Brown has served in leadership roles at Lufkin First Christian
Church for the last 29 years and teaches 3rd, 4th,& 5th Grade
Sunday School. He also served on the following Boards:

The Coalition

Angelina County Chamber of Commerce

City of Lufkin 4-B Economic Development Board

Chairman of United Way of Angelina County
Bob is active in the Community including the HOSTS Program at
Brandon Elementary as a mentor. He is a member of the Lufkin
Roundtable which has awarded over 360 $1,000.00 Scholarships to
graduating seniors in Angelina Co. in memory of Chuck Arnold,
Denna Brown, and Lauralyn Mathis Hillard. Bob received the
Lufkin/Angelina County Chamber of Commerce's Golden Anvil Award
in January 1993.
Bob has been involved in economic development with his former
company and has been active in recruiting new industry to
Brownwood, Commerce, and Lufkin in his 40 year career.
He has been active in the legislative process for the past 30
years and is familiar with the leadership of the major
industries in Angelina County.
