ELLEN TROUT LAKE

Ellen Trout Lake is a small lake in Ellen Trout Park, right across from the zoo.  It has been stocked with channel catfish by the Texas Parks and  Wildlife Department and is an excellent place to take children fishing.  The lake also contains largemouth bass and pan fish.

The lake has been the site of several "KidFish" events in the last several years.  Fishing is allowed from the bank and a license is required.  Nearby attractions include the Ellen Trout Zoo, playgrounds and a miniature railroad.

Fishing is also allowed in the lake in Jones Park.
