CIVIL SERVICE ENTRANCE EXAMINATION

All positions within the Police and Fire Departments are tested.  The two departments have their own unique examinations.  Generally the exams are given once a year.  There is an exception to the rule:  Should the current list of candidates be exhausted, then another exam will be given to replenish that list.  The list of candidates are current and active for one year only.  (Note:  Passing is a raw score of 70 without veterans points for passing.  Should no one receive a passing grade, then the exam is given again.  In order to be placed on the list for the next examination you must meet the qualifications listed below and complete the employment application by clicking here.

Once we receive your application you will be placed on the list for the next examination in the Department you specified on the application.  As the next examination is scheduled you will receive testing information in the mail, to include your study guide.
