The Genealogy Department would like to thank Karen
Kurth Hall for donating a copy of The Gates Family
of Patrick County, Virginia. They also appreciate
June Moffett for donating a copy of History of
Jasper County, Mississippi. If you are researching
in Pennsylvania, they have added two volumes of York
County Pennsylvania Church Records of the 18th
Century and a two volume set of Genealogical and
Personal History of Fayette County, Pennsylvania.
Ray County, Missouri History, Martin County,
Kentucky History and A History of Uvalde County,
Texas have also been added.
If you would like to do some internet research on
your family, Ancestry Library Edition is
available at no charge for patrons inside the
library. Heritage Quest and Footnote.com
are available for use in the library as well as
outside the library for those with current library
cards. New items are added to these data bases
every week. Stop in today and start digging up your
roots. If you need help accessing these databases,
please ask in the Genealogy department. Our
Genealogy department also has an excellent
collection of print materials that are available for
those who wish to research their family trees,
including books covering families from all across
the country, not just here in Texas. We also have a
large collection of microfilm for back issues of the
Lufkin Daily News. We encourage anyone interested
to come in and see what’s available.
