Our Summer
Reading program will end on July 9, 2009. The certificate
parties will be held on July 8th at 11:00 am for ages 3 ½ -
6 and July 9th at 11:00 am for ages 6-12. We hope that
everyone who has participated in our program will be able to
attend these final parties.
Our Summer
Reading programs may be nearly over, but there are still
lots of adventures awaiting your children at the library.
Bring them in and help them find all the wonders we have to
offer: Beginning readers can find such titles as
Peek-a-bug
illustrated by Jerry Smath, It's the bear! by Jez
Alborough, The Four Seasons by Sonia Black,
Buster goes to Cowboy Camp by Denise Fleming, I Don't
Want to Go to Camp by Eve Bunting, Petey Moroni's

Ever by Clare Jarrett, Garfield's Picnic Adventure
by Jack C. Harris, or A Little Bit of Trouble by
Sally Grindley. Older children might enjoy The

Berenstains, The Green Dog: a Mostly True Story by
Suzanne Fisher Staples, My One Hundred Adventures by

Young adults looking for adventure this summer might want to
pick up a copy of Chance Fortune and the Outlaws by

McKernan, or Scorpia by Anthony Horowitz.
If you
would like to do some internet research on your family,
Ancestry Library Edition is available at no charge for
patrons inside the library. Heritage Quest is available for
use in the library as well as outside the library for those
with current library cards. Stop in today and start digging
up your roots. If you need help accessing these databases,
please ask in the Genealogy department.

Our patrons
can now get a complete listing of our new arrivals in all
areas of the library on our website, or you can see a
printed listing by stopping at the Reference Desk.
Kurth
Memorial Library is open 10am to 7pm on Mondays, 9am to 6pm
Tuesday through Thursday, 9am to 5:30 on Friday, and 9am to
1pm on Saturdays. We do not charge for membership, however,
you must come in ahead of time to make application for a
card in order to complete the address verification process.
Anyone who lives or works in Angelina County may
apply for a library card. Replacement cards are $1.
Parents or legal guardians must apply for library cards for
children under 18. Children under the age of 12 should not
be left at the library without adult supervision. |
