Main Street Lufkin Given State
March 6, 2015 --Main Street Lufkin has
received one of 60 State Accreditation recognitions from the
Texas Historical Commission. The Commission states that this
accreditation proves Main Street’s
annual goals are being achieved. Most importantly it
demonstrates that Main Street’s effort provides substantial
return on investment to local communities.
The accreditation means that Main Street show above
performance in 10 required categories. This is the 32nd
year Main Street has accomplished this recognition.

Street Lufkin Board and staff envision a clean, attractive,
and economically viable central business district with
a significant number of restored buildings, state of the art
landscaping, outdoor art and other aesthetic features to
enhance the historic character of the downtown area.
Main Street Lufkin Mission Statement
The mission of Main Street Lufkin is to work in conjunction
with downtown property owners, tenants, employees, city
staff, and visitors to facilitate a safe, clean, attractive,
an economically viable downtown. While fostering historic
preservation, a good overall image, and a wholesome
environment, these goals will be accomplished by utilizing
the Texas Main Street Four-Point approach system.
