Louis Bronaugh Park

Louis Bronaugh Park, formerly City Hall Park, was renamed on June 6, 2006 after longtime Lufkin Mayor Louis Bronaugh.  It is one of Lufkin's newest park facilities.  It is located across Charlton from City Hall.  The park is an excellent facility for public ceremonies.  The City of Lufkin, in conjunction with the Landscape Task Force dedicated the bronze eagle sculpture in Bronaughl Park on  September 11, 2002. The the newly dedicated bronze eagle in Bronaugh Park was designed by Edd Hayes to memorialize all the people who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.

On October 25th 2013, The Lufkin Landscape Task Force dedicated the beautiful amphitheater to the City of Lufkin. The amphiteater has a historical mural on the back walls about the timber industry. Local artist, Byran Jones, painted the mural.

On February 1, 2004, the Lufkin Landscape Task Force hosted a Memorial service to commemorate the first anniversary of the Columbia disaster at Bronaugh Park.  A memorial marker and flag were dedicated.  A streaming video of the service is available
