This is the first Town Hall meeting for the development of the City of Lufkin's new Comprehensive Plan. A Comprehensive Plan is used by the City to guide decision making by elected officials on the direction of growth and investments in both infrastructure and programs. Everyone is invited to attend the Town Hall and voice their opinion on the future of their community. The meeting will be interactive and engaging! NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
BOARD OF ADJUSTMENTS AND APPEALS


The Board of Adjustments and Appeals (BOAA) will consider the following item at the February 22, 2017 BOAA meeting:

Conduct a Public Hearing to consider the request of Mike Hineman, owner, for a variance in a “Residential Large Single Family Dwelling” zoning district to the requirement that only when a corner lot serves as an entryway to a subdivision may an 8’ fence be erected per “Article XX, 5. Fences, Walls, and Similar Barriers”. The applicant requests an 8’ fence along his property’s greenbelt. Placement of an 8’ fence is required behind the building line. This request is for property addressed as 101 Audubon Lane.

A Public Hearing to consider the request will be held in the Council Chambers of City Hall located at 300 East Shepherd Avenue by the Board of Adjustments and Appeals on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at 8:00 AM.





The Planning and Zoning Commission will consider the following item at the March 13, 2017 Commission meeting:

Conduct a Public Hearing to consider a request by Kevin Strickland, owner, to change the zoning on two parcels described as ABS 0040 QUINALTY J.L., Tract 76 and Tract 77, and more commonly known as 1508 and 1510 Atkinson Drive from “Neighborhood Retail” and “Residential Medium Single Family Dwelling” to “Commercial.” A change to the Future Land Use Map to Commercial will also be considered.

A Public Hearing to consider the requests will be in the Council Chambers of City Hall located at 300 East Shepherd Avenue by the Planning and Zoning Commission on Monday, March 13, 2017 at 5:00 PM and by the City Council on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at 5:00 PM.
