CITY OF LUFKIN, TEXAS
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
PLANNING AND ZONING
The Planning and Zoning Commission will consider the
following items at the December 9, 2013 Commission meeting:
1) Conduct a Public Hearing and consider a request from the
applicant, Verizon Wireless, for a Special Use Permit for a
Communication Monopole in a “Commercial” zoning district for
a 4.895 acre parcel described as ABS 0070 Abney P.C., Tract
15, and more commonly known as 2209 East Denman Avenue. The
reason for the request is to allow for a Communication
Monopole at this location.
2) Conduct a Public Hearing and consider a request from
Minguez Exchange LLC for changing the zoning classification
from a “Local Business District” to a “Central Business
District” for property described as 3935 Ellis Blk 1 Lot 1 –
2 &W/Pt of 3 and commonly known as 921 Ellis Avenue. This
item also includes a Future Land Use Plan map change to
“Central Business District” for all properties.
3) Conduct a Public Hearing and consider a request from the
applicant, Jeffrey Tisdale, for a Special Use Permit for a
Drinking Establishment in a “Commercial” zoning district for
a parcel described as Timberland Shopping Center, Block 1,
Lot1, Acres 4.074, and more commonly known as 732 South
Timberland. The reason for the request is to allow for a
Drinking Establishment at this location.
A Public Hearing to consider this request will be held in
the Council Chambers of City Hall located at 300 East
Shepherd Avenue by the Planning and Zoning Commission on
Monday, December 9, 2013 at 5:00 PM and by the City Council
on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at 5:00 PM.
