Welcome to the Public Works Division of the City of Lufkin.  Public works is comprised of several departments including the Solid Waste, Recycling, Fleet Maintenance, Street, Parks and Recreation and the Pitser Garrison Civic Center.  The Public Works Division Director is Steve Floyd and the Division is under the Deputy City Manager, Keith Wright, P.E.

 

The Public Works Division played a significant role in supporting the Hurricane Rita effort and will continue to do so in any future emergency operations.  Members of the various departments help setup shelters, move food and supplies, distribute food, ice, and water, and participate in any cleanup efforts.  The departments are service oriented and prepared to assist the citizens of Lufkin at all hours, day and night.
