CURBSIDE RECYCLING IN LUFKIN

CURBSIDE RECYCLING IN LUFKIN

These are the ONLY items accepted through the City of Lufkin’s Curbside Recycling Program.  Pick up for recyclables is Thursday and Friday

NOTE: The City no longer requires that recyclable items be placed into bags before being placed into the blue recycling container. Clean, dry and/or flattened items should be placed directly into the recycling container.

1. Newspapers/magazines/office paper – includes items such as newspapers, slick advertising inserts, magazines and junk mail, as well as white and colored office paper.

2. Cardboard – includes items such as cereal boxes, shoeboxes, paper towel and tissue rolls, soda boxes and corrugated cardboard. Items should be clean, dry and flattened. For large amounts of cardboard, flatten and place at the curb and contact us for special pickup.

3. Aluminum and steel – cans ONLY – Rinse and place into the blue recycling container. Labels do not have to be removed.

4. Plastics #1 & #2 – Look on the container for #1 or #2 inside a triangle. Remove lids. Items such as milk jugs, water bottles, soda bottles, detergent bottles and juice bottles should be rinsed and placed inside the container along with other recyclables. Plastic grocery bags are also acceptable.
