City of Lufkin is constantly striving to improve the number and quality
of its online services. Listed
on the sidebar are links to numerous
services that you can now perform online and save a trip to City Hall.
You can look up a specific ordinance, pay a traffic fine, review and pay
your utility bill, watch the city council meetings live, review minutes
back to the 1800's, report problems such as streetlight outages and
potholes, and a whole lot more.
One of our newer features is the access of utility
billing information via the Internet. Users can view their water
usage and payment record for the previous 36 months, graph their monthly
water usage, and pay their utility bills – all “online”. Also as an
added convenience, customers can now pay their utility bills using Visa
We have added GIS mapping recently and offer data
driven maps that show bus routes, wards, zoning, and much more.
The City has one of the better city council webcasting
capabilities in the state of Texas. It was developed with the idea
of doing more with less and the initial hardware cost excluding existing
equipment was under $200.00 and the system uses free software available
from Microsoft. The webcasting capability has continued to improve
and we can now webcast events all over the City using the wireless WAN to
connect the remote location back to the media server in City Hall.
If you would like to see an additional service added to
the list, email the
webmaster and we will investigate the feasibility of including it.
