Chief Scott Marcotte became the Chief of Police of
the Lufkin Police Department on August 1, 2009.
Chief Marcotte began his law enforcement career with the Lufkin
Police Department in 1988 and served as the department’s Assist
Chief of Police for eight years prior to his appointment as Police
Chief. He has held several positions with the department and has
supervised the Community Policing and Criminal Investigation
sections.
Chief Marcotte holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from
Stephen F. Austin State University. He is a graduate from the
Certified Public Managers Program through the William P. Hobby
Center for Public Service. He is also a graduate from the 203rd
session of the FBI National Academy.
Chief Marcotte, an outdoor enthusiast and private pilot, is married
to Angela Marcotte. They have two school-aged children, Jacob and
Joshua.
