Steve has over 25 years in city government experience and holds the designation as a Certified Public Manager. He came to the City of Lufkin in February 2006 as the Water Utilities Director. Prior to coming to Lufkin he served the City of Jasper for almost 19 years in several Public Works and Administrative positions. Steve is currently the City of Lufkin’s Public Works Director as well as serving as the Assistant Emergency Management Coordinator. The Public Works Department consists of Streets & Drainage, Solid Waste, Recycling, Parks & Recreation, Fleet Maintenance as well as the Pitser Garrison Convention Center and the Pines Theater. Steve also manages the Vehicle and Equipment Amortization program for the City of Lufkin.

Steve is an active member of the Lufkin Hosts Lions Club as well as volunteering for several other civic activities. He and his wife Cecilia have 3 children and are proud to make the Lufkin area their home.
