Councilmember Rufus Duncan was elected to the City
Council in 2005. He is the CEO of Higginbotham Holdings, Ltd, the
holding company of a group of home center stores located across
Texas. Mr. Duncan received his Bachelor of Arts in Business
Administration from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas.
Mr. Duncan has served as Chairman of the Lufkin Landscape Task
Force, President of Angelina Beautiful Clean, President of the
Homebuilders Association of Lufkin, and as a commissioner on the
Planning and Zoning Commission. He is presently President of the
Lumberman's Association of Texas, a Board Member of the Angelina
County Appraisal District and a Board Member of the Lufkin
Firefighter's Pension Board..
He and his wife, Marianna Duncan, have one son, Scott.
