Zoo Location

The Zoo is located at 402 Zoo Circle, Lufkin, Texas 75904. On the north Loop 287, exit north on Martin Luther King and turn left immediately onto Zoo Circle. Parking is available along the street or the parking lots in Ellen Trout Park. The Ellen Trout Zoo is owned and operated by the City of Lufkin. Friends of Ellen Trout Zoo (F.O.E.T.Z.) is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization that assists the Zoo in a supportive capacity. F.O.E.T.Z. will focus on funding for major expansion and renovation projects in the Zoo's master plan. Giraffes, Rhinoceroses, and Hippopotamuses are now featured at the Zoo in exhibits funded by F.O.E.T.Z. Future projects include a new Education Building, Primate Island, a Lake Nature Trail, and improvements to the Small Animal Building among others.
