The City of Lufkin will begin reconstruction on a portion of Daniel McCall Drive within the week.

The project, which starts at the intersection of College Drive and runs just south of Toran Lane, will address various improvements, including drainage, widening, and resurfacing. Southern Daniel McCall Drive was annexed into Lufkin city limits in December 2001 and previously maintained by Angelina County.

While the project is underway, residents should anticipate temporary disruptions and closures. The City is committed to minimizing inconveniences and will work efficiently to minimize resident disruptions.

"We understand the importance of maintaining safe and reliable roadways within our residential communities," said Mayor Mark Hicks. "The road reconstruction on Daniel McCall Drive is part of our ongoing commitment to improving infrastructure and enhancing the quality of life for our residents."

Completion is tentatively set for August.

Project updates will be shared through the City’s website, social media platforms, and signage posted in the vicinity of Daniel McCall Drive.
